Atlantic Marine Corps Communities and Actus Lend Lease value the safety of you and your family and want to ensure that our construction sites are safe for both our Residents and the construction workers who are working to renovate and build homes that you will be proud to call home.
Dangerous
Any construction site, regardless of the safety measures taken, can be a dangerous place where severe injury or death is possible. On average there are 75-100 contractors working on a construction site at any one time and numerous construction vehicles moving throughout the sites. Safety is our highest priority and our personnel use the most current procedures and measures to prevent people from getting hurt. To help protect you, each construction site is enclosed in a chain link fence to provide restricted access to areas where active construction and renovation work is taking place.
Restricted Access
Children and adults who do not have authorization and the required safety protection should never enter into a fence enclosed construction area, even if construction is not in progress at the time or if the entry gate(s) are open. Children should never play in the street, sidewalk, home or surrounding yard that has been closed due to construction, and no one should use these areas as a short cut. We ask for your help in ensuring children and adults in AMCC neighborhoods be aware of the construction areas and remember the seriousness with which they should be treated.
As of June 2008, new access signs will be placed at all site entry areas during working hours to ensure anyone approaching streets on which there is active construction can know not to use this road for exercise or pass through. In certain select cases, you may need to drive through a construction area street to gain access to your home, where an alternate route is not available. Should you be required to drive through an active site, remember to maintain situational awareness and drive with caution. Obey all posted traffic and safety rules.
Damage & Theft
The homes that we are building and renovating are for the benefit of our many Residents. Damages to property and theft that occur on our construction sites after contractors have gone home is costly to AMCC and causes delays for Residents waiting to move into their new home. Due to the impact and cost associated with this criminal behavior, new measures are being taken to ensure the after-hours security of all construction sites. Additionally, you will be held financially and legally responsible for any damages to property or theft caused by yourself or any person you are responsible for under the terms of your Lease.
Thank you for patience and understanding.
