AMCC Pool Rules & Safety Tips

New AMCC pools at Slocum Village and Stewart Terrace are now open for the Summer season. Our lifeguards are experienced and eager to make sure you all enjoy your recreational experience. It is their responsibility to ensure that you all stay safe as well. We ask that you please abide by the attached rules and regulations. The lifeguards on duty have the right to enforce the following policies and procedures at all times.

Pool Passes

Each pool at AMCC is open to all AMCC Residents from any of our communities. To obtain access to the pool, you will need to register your family for a free pool pass at any Cherry Point Community Management Office or at the Stewart Terrace Community Center during normal office hours. You will only need to register for a pool pass once for the 2008 season. Once you have your pool pass, you will need to present it to the lifeguard on-duty any time you visit the pool.

Safety Suggestions

These safety tips are provided by the American Red Cross. Visit the American Red Cross website at www.redcross.org for more tips about personal safety.

  • Learn to swim. The best thing anyone can do to stay safe in and around the water is to learn to swim--this includes adults and children. The American Red Cross has swimming courses for people of any age and swimming ability. To enroll in a swim course, contact your local Red Cross chapter.
  • Be sure the area is well supervised by lifeguards before you or others in your group enter the water.

  • Read all posted signs. Follow the rules and directions given by lifeguards. Ask questions if you are not sure about a correct procedure.

  • Maintain constant supervision. Watch children around any water environment (pool, stream, lake, tub, toilet, bucket of water), no matter what skills your child has acquired and no matter how shallow the water. For younger children, practice "Reach Supervision" by staying within an arm's length reach.
